Paull - 25th June 2018, Paull @ 7.00pm
Paull is a village and civil parish in Holderness, about six miles from Hull and east of the watercourse known as Hedon Haven. It's our destination for this Monday and was previously a successful
outing for us way back in 2015, following a suggestion from one of our programme planning sessions.
Historically, Paull was listed in the Domesday Book, typical of a medieval settlement and in later years became known for shrimp fishing. Many members will be aware of the existence of Fort Paull (not on our itinerary), a Napoleonic fortress, erected in 1542 as a prelude to the siege of Hull.
Meeting place: The Old Lighthouse, near the Humber Tavern and Crown Inn (HU12 8AL).
